In 1998, four Memphis physicians joined together to create what they envisioned would become a new benchmark of care for heart patients in the Mid-South. Almost a decade later, Memphis Heart Clinic has successfully grown to become a recognized leader in cardiac care. Our team of dedicated physicians has treated thousands of heart patients through an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Founded by Joseph K. Samaha, MD, FACC, FSCAI; William H. Flanagan, MD; David H. Kraus, MD, FACC, FACP; and Stevan I. Himmelstein, MD, FACC; Memphis Heart Clinic is now home to 16 cardiology specialists, many of whom have practiced in the Memphis area for over 25 years. Our physicians specialize in consultative and interventional cardiology; peripheral interventions of the carotids and legs; and electrophysiology. We are dedicated to providing the latest treatment in a caring environment.

Memphis Heart Clinic offers comprehensive cardiac services utilizing the latest technology Our physicians are board certified and trained in interpreting diagnostic procedures including echocardiography and nuclear imaging, as well as performing a host of procedures from cardiac catheterizations to pacemaker implantation and complex ablation procedures. With the establishment of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, we implemented yet another level of care, offering patients an alternative to hospitalization.

With a commitment to unprecedented levels of research, technological innovations, and novel drug therapies, Memphis Heart Clinic was the first clinic in the nation to implement an electronic-based clinical information program, MY RECORD, that provides patients their vital medical records on a credit card-sized portable disc.

In 2007, Memphis Heart Clinic received the National Committee on Quality Assurances' (NCQA) highest award for providing quality patient care. Each of our physicians and their respective treatment teams is committed to providing the best clinical care available with the warmth of a human touch.

Striving to maintain accessibility and convenience, Memphis Heart Clinic maintains three hubs in the Mid-South region: East Memphis, Southaven , MS and Brighton , TN with Satellite offices in Union City TN, Holly Springs and Clarksdale, MS. Our physicians also admit to Baptist and Methodist Germantown hospital systems.
