Dr. Malhotra joined Memphis Heart Clinic as a cardiovascular specialist in 2006.
Dr. Amit Malhotra received his medical degree in Patiala, India. He completed his internal medicine residency in South Africa and at Cook County Hospital in Chicago where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He remained on faculty with Cook County Hospital and was Assistant Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. In 2002, Dr. Malhotra came to Memphis to complete his cardiology fellowship at the University of Tennessee. He then obtained a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from University of Arkansas in 2006. During residency and fellowship, Dr. Malhotra presented at the American Heart Association, American College of Physicians and the Southern Society of Clinical Investigation. He was selected to receive Clinical skills and Scholarship awards for two years in succession by his peers at Cook County Hospital which is one of the busiest residency programs in the country.
Some of Dr. Malhotra’s personal interest in the cardiology field include general consultative cardiology, interventional therapy for coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. He is also interested in nuclear non-invasive evaluation of coronary disease and echocardiography.
Dr. Malhotra holds multiple board certifications in the areas of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
When not at Memphis Heart Clinic, Dr. Malhotra stays busy with his wife and three children.
