Memphis Heart Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr.  Jeffrey Kerlan. Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine, Dr. Kerlan specializes in interventional electrophysiology including catheter ablation procedures and device implantations.
A Vanderbilt graduate, Dr. Kerlan began his medical training at the University of Tennessee, Memphis College of Medicine where he received his Medical Degree. He went on to complete his Internship and Residency at the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. While there, he received numerous awards and recognitions including the Housestaff Spirit Award and the William E. Dismukes Award of Excellence for Outstanding Senior Resident. Â After completion of his Internal Medicine training, Dr. Kerlan pursued his passion for cardiology at Washington University School of Medicine where he completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Sub Specialty Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
A native Memphian, Dr. Kerlan is very active in the medical community and a member of several professional societies including, The American College of Cardiology (Fellow), Heart Rhythm Society, Tennessee Medical Association, Memphis-Shelby County Medical Society, American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. He also sits on the UT College of Medicine Board of Alumni Trustees.
Dr. Kerlan stays busy at home with his wife and two children. His call to practice medicine is no surprise for his family, being that Dr. Kerlan is a 3rd generation physician. His grandfather was a physician in East Tennessee and his father is a highly respected doctor in the Memphis community.  Dr. Kerlan sees patients at the clinic’s East Memphis office location. He will also perform procedures at St. Francis, Baptist Memphis, Baptist DeSoto and Methodist Germantown Hospitals.
