Widely published, Dr. Stevan I. Himmelstein is recognized at Memphis Heart Clinic as a voice heard by many. In the past, Dr. Himmelstein has presented to many prestigious organizations such as the American Heart Association, American Federation of Clinical Research and the American Society of Hypertension. Recently, Dr. Himmelstein was one of seven Memphis Heart Clinic cardiologists recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for excellence in cardiac care.
Dr. Himmelstein spent his early years in East Tennessee around Knoxville, eventually moving further east to Duke University where he completed his undergraduate work, internship and residency. He holds board certifications in cardiovascular disease, cardiology and internal medicine and has practiced since 1990. He was awarded fellowships by the American College of Cardiology in 1992 and by the North Carolina National Kidney Foundation.
Dr. Himmelstein likes a challenge.
“I like working with patients who may have a complex history of heart disease. This may mean those living with hypertension or carotid vascular disease.”
Considered our North Mississippi anchor, Dr. Himmelstein has been practicing in Southaven for close to 20 years.
When not working, Dr. Himmelstein enjoys spending time with his wife and children or pursuing one of his many outside interests such as traveling or hiking.
